Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj , who is in Durrës detention, his law firms and supporters from both Britain and the US, as well as the media that serves him, mainly media reptiles paid for by corruption money, have repeatedly stated that Veliaj is being held in prison without charge.

Initially, it was the same media, the same people, who said that Erion Veliaj's case at SPAK was simply an investigation into Ajola.

Then they went so far as to defend Erioni, saying that it was a story of panties, a story of purchases of 850 thousand euros, she didn't buy more than 70 thousand euros, she didn't buy anything big.

In fact, they lied here too. But what was even more disgusting was that they slandered the mayor's wife, that SPAK had entered the family and brought up private matters, which were included in the investigations, etc.

CNA has released part of the wiretaps, those that we were able to obtain, and many media outlets have released the full file according to the decision given in the Court of Appeals, now also in the Supreme Court, regarding Erion Veliaj's stay in prison, where it does not find any personal family information about Ajola Xoxa.

So, these media strategists have simply served a strategy.

It doesn't matter if that lady's image is tarnished or her privacy is violated, it's enough that Erion is clean.

This is the strategy, to preserve his image and fight for Erion Veliaj to return to office so that they can then fill their pockets with the money the mayor offers them directly and indirectly.

There is nothing problematic, private, about Ajola Xoxa in any of the intercepts , just about the works being followed by a certain architect in Qerret, in Tirana to make investments . That's all. The media have mentioned private matters.

The same media that yesterday came up with a scheme that has a fixed scenario behind it, like the story with the donkey, "get up because I killed you, get down because I killed you" is what is happening this time with SPAK.

What does this mean?

Media strategists and legal advisors or lobbyists have already added the phrase "held in prison without charge" without hesitation.

This is a LIE , because Erion Veliaj was arrested by decisions of all levels of courts that have left him in prison, for 13 charges ranging from corruption to other offenses, and it was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Veliaj was tampering with evidence.

In fact, the mention of the phrase "held in prison without charge" is a big lie, except that he has not been formally charged, so the case has not been brought to trial.

What is the strategy? What is the scenario?

If we cannot get Erion Veliaj out of the Supreme Court so that he can return to work or work from home or implement proportional sentences, etc., the strategy is quite simple: fight to open another path to get him out and reinstate him.

Erion Veliaj has been in prison for 5 months, the 6-month investigation period ends at the end of July and all the pressure from the media and lobbyists is for the charges to be filed.  The moment Erion Veliaj goes to court with charges, then he has the right to seek his freedom again.

So, since the Supreme Court did not issue an arrest warrant, but found his arrest legal, now that SPAK completes its investigations and the case goes to court, it means that the evidence has been collected and there is no reason for Erion Veliaj to be kept in prison, and then what will happen?

The Court will be asked to release him or release him on bail, or to investigate him at home. In fact, this is a legible strategy. It is evident from the repetition of the sentence “he is being held in prison without charge”.

Taking the charge to court

The moment Erion Veliaj is charged, they will say they don't have to keep him in prison, the charges are there, SPAK has completed its work, it has collected the evidence, the gentleman can be prosecuted without imprisonment.

In fact, Erion Veliaj cannot be prosecuted at large under any circumstances because even if within 6 months, that is, by the end of July, SPAK sends him the file for the 13 charges he has, there are several factions of the file, there are several other investigative cases that are directly and indirectly related to Erion Veliaj that have been opened for the latter.

There are investigations into other characters, collaborators, everything else, and Erion Veliaj cannot be released from prison because the moment he gets out, he will be put back under house arrest or in the office, where he could again destroy the evidence.

Not only the evidence collected so far against him, but also the evidence that is directly or indirectly related to him in other criminal investigation files, because SPAK will continue the investigation.

And, for the other files, Erion Veliaj can destroy them outside of prison.

We recall the wiretaps in the detention facilities in Durrës about what he was doing and how he behaved.

Even today, after 5 months in prison, he still does not resign from his post, precisely for these reasons , to create schemes and scenarios with the idea that the charges were dropped, the evidence was collected and now he must go out to take the mayor's scarf and go back to work to destroy other evidence, evidence related to other investigative files, not those facts, evidence and charges, which SPAK must take to court by the end of July.

Erion Veliaj has a very clear scenario: he goes to court with the charges and then seeks freedom.

This is a fixed "up because I killed you, down because I killed you" and this will be the next accusation against SPAK, they took Erion to court, now there is no need to keep him in prison.

In fact, Erion is being held in prison, as a mayor caught in corruption, with various criminal offenses and who has not only the file against him, but also other files where his associates and other officials are being investigated, in which he is involved and can again destroy the evidence.

So, the game of lobbyists and the media "let's bring an indictment and get Erion Veliaj out" is simply another soap bubble and nothing more than that./ CNA
