KPA confirms in office the prosecutor Suela Salavaçi

Suela Salavaci

Suela Salavaçi, a prosecutor in the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, passed the second level of vetting this Tuesday.

The KPA body decided to confirm Salavaç in office, leaving in force the decision of the KPK.

Salavaçi was confirmed by the Commission on September 28, 2023 with a majority of votes, after facing the burdens of proof for the wealth, which were mainly related to the negative balances of the parents for some assets that they had donated, as well as the impossibilities found in years to investments and expenses made by her and her husband.

The leader of the KPK team, Alma Faskaj, and member Suela Zhegu assessed that the subject had been able to convincingly explain the legal source of the assets, but the Public Commissioner, Irena Nino, complained that the decision-making of the KPK was unfounded.

Nino relied on ONM's recommendations that the prosecutor's case was not based on a satisfactory analysis of the evidence, but Salavaçi disputed this./ CNA
