Shkodra's judge gets stuck in "vetting" / Tonin Stërkaj is fired

The judge of Shkodra, Tonin Sterkaj, was dismissed this Wednesday by the Independent Qualification Commission.

The decision was taken by the KPK body, headed by Alma Faskaj, with Pamela Qirko as rapporteur and Xhensila Pinen as member.

The KPK found that Judge Sterkaj was financially incapable of purchasing a plot of land with an area of ??240 m2 in Shkodër from his wife in 2001 for the price of 500,000 Lek, with the income from his work as a source of creation.

Also, there was a negative balance for the investment made in a three-story apartment built on this land in 2002-2003. The assessed body also found inaccuracies in the statements.

Tonin Sterkaj started his career in the justice system in 1995 and has been working for more than two decades as a judge in the Court of Shkodra.
