The dismissal is confirmed/ Prosecutor Sali Hasa is also stuck in the second degree of vetting

Sali Hasa

The Special Board of Appeal has upheld the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission for the dismissal of prosecutor Sali Hasa.

The decision was taken by the judging panel consisting of Albana Shtylla as chairperson, Natasha Mulaj as relator and members: Ina Rama, Rezarta Schuetz, Sokol Çomo.

The former Saranda prosecutor was arrested in June 2021 on charges of corruption and match-fixing. He was found guilty in the first instance and then the Special Court of Appeal confirmed his sentence of 2 years and four months in prison. Hasa appealed this decision to the Supreme Court.

After Hasa's arrest, the re-evaluation process took place at the same time. The prosecutor was assessed only in terms of assets and the KPK, in his absence, decided to dismiss him from office. Two years after this decision, at the request of the High Inspector of Justice, the High Prosecution Council also decided to dismiss Hasa./ CNA
