"Tourist standards are lacking"/ Journalist raises the alarm: You will

Renowned journalist Mentor Kikia has raised today a concern that is being encountered more than ever by vacationers this summer season, that of the lack of prior announcement of prices.

According to him, Albania lacks a tourist standard, which, as he emphasizes, is not only related to the cleanliness of the beach and water, but also to transparency in services and customer relations.

While making a simple comparison between Albania and countries in the region in this regard, Kikia states in a post on his social networks that the authorities should act on this issue, by requiring service units in tourist areas to advertise the menu at the entrance, to avoid price fraud.

 "Look, it's that simple!"

In a tourist village in Montenegro, and everywhere else, restaurants advertise the menu at the entrance.

People read what is offered and the price of the products. If they find what they want and can afford the prices, they go inside. If not, they continue their "search".

At the end there is also fast food, and pie, and pizza with portions.... Even fast food has a price list on the sidewalk.

I'm not comparing prices, I'm comparing standards.

Because the tourist standard is not only the cleanliness of the beach and water, but first of all the relationship with the client, transparency.

In most coastal restaurants in Albania, they don't even bring you the menu when you sit down. "Let me tell you what we have," the waiter says, and finally brings you the bill, when you find out that a fried egg costs 11 Euros.

Such a practice has started in Tirana. There are restaurants that practice this kind of transparency.

But the authorities should force service units in tourist areas to do this.

Enough with the price fraud!", writes Kikia./ CNA
