"1 million euros of abuse in the Municipality of Saranda"/ Zhupa:

DP MP, Ina Zhupa, once again denounced the abuses taking place in the Municipality of Saranda.

According to her, the Supreme State Audit Office has discovered that in just one year, 1 million euros were abused in this coastal municipality.

Zhupa said that this is a cost that citizens pay.

Zhupa called on citizens to take control of the Municipality of Saranda in the upcoming elections and put it at the service of citizens.

"The latest report of the Supreme Audit Office is, in fact, the best indictment for the Municipality of Saranda. In just 1 audited year, about 1 million euros were abused by this municipality. Clearly, we are not dealing with one or two incompetent officials, but we are dealing with a governance model, a model for extorting public money and misgoverning.

The data shows that around 630 thousand euros are economic damage due to the municipality's inaction. 226 thousand euros are economic damage for violations in procurement, 101 thousand euros are economic damage for works paid for but actually not completed, and 117 thousand euros are economic damage for parties, for artistic-cultural projects, which were not carried out according to the procurement.

"We are clearly dealing with a municipality that abuses citizens' taxes, that steals them and does not work for the public interest. Therefore, we will denounce it every day, we will stand by the citizens in their protests and their problems and we will guarantee not only that we will bring the files to justice, but we will take over the Municipality of Saranda in the next elections and put it at the service of the citizens," emphasizes Zhupa.
