Change can wait a little longer...

The emergence of new faces in politics is always good news. But biological youth is not necessarily political youth.

He insists that in politics, it is not enough to "renew" with new ages. It is not enough to replace gray hair with black hair, nor to change the dates of birth on the lists of leaders. A party is not reborn, nor refounded, nor renewed by the birth certificates of its members, but by the way they think, speak, and act.

It is not renewed when new politicians inherit the habits, mentality, and mannerisms of older generations.

The turnover of elites does not happen because a few faces change. On the contrary. Even yesterday, stagnation triumphed in the DP.

The faces changed a little, but the logic remained the same. And neither the party nor society gained anything from recycling the same model.

Some young people were indeed elected, but they are very, very old young people. They follow the old, they use the old's mind, they repeat their words, they speak in the same wooden language, they defend the same taboos, and they apply the same arrogant, divisive, and exclusionary methods.

This is not a renewal. Simply, clearly and precisely, it is recycling, comfort and convenience in opposition. A newer copy of the old.

Therefore, enthusiasm for changes in the leadership of the Democratic Party remains limited and only in the grateful statuses of the "appointees".

Essentially, almost nothing has changed. The same political losers continue to set the direction; the same faces dominate decision-making, and the same sectarianism continues to treat dissent as a threat, not an asset.

A party does not become modern just because it lowers the average age of its leaders. It becomes modern when it accepts meritocracy, when it respects critical thinking, when it opens the doors to debate, and when it abandons the culture of blind loyalty to the individual and his cult built up over 36 years.

Change is not measured by reducing the age of a leader. Change comes when the political culture changes. Change comes when the language, the thinking, the political behavior changes.

Change comes when the youth of a party have the courage to think differently from those who brought them to this point. When they are willing to challenge the culture of defeat and build a culture of responsibility. If the youth have neither the desire, nor the courage, nor the will, then the party has not entered a new era.

It has just entered a new season of the same story. Until then..., change in the DP can wait a little longer.../ CNA
