Accused of migrant trafficking/ 34-year-old Egyptian arrested

The Trafficking Investigation Section has finalized the police operation codenamed "Organizer", arresting the 34-year-old with the initials AH, an Egyptian citizen residing in Krujë.

He is accused of organizing the illegal transportation of immigrants, mainly from Egypt, who intended to cross the borders towards European Union countries.

The suspect was arrested red-handed by the Police on the highway, near Rinas, while he was transporting an Egyptian citizen towards Shkodra. To avoid police checks, he used the method of transporting immigrants one by one.

As material evidence, the Police seized the arrested person's cell phone, while the procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further investigations into his criminal activity.

"The police operation codenamed "Fast" is being finalized by the Investigation Sector (FAST Albania), at the Directorate of the Special Operational Force.

Wanted in Spain for drug trafficking and participation in a criminal organization, the 39-year-old was captured in Malësia e Madhe.

Following the information and operational coordination with counterparts in Spain, with the objective of locating and capturing citizens declared internationally wanted, specialists from the Search Sector (FAST Albania), in the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Shkodra DVP, finalized the police operation codenamed "Fast", as a result of which the citizen was located in Malësi e Madhe and provisionally arrested:

GH alias GH, 39 years old, born in Koplik.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Madrid, after the Spanish judicial authorities, by decision dated 08.07.2026, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics" and "Participation in a criminal organization", committed with the purpose of trafficking in narcotics.

"Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with the Spanish authorities, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of the 39-year-old to Spain," the police emphasize./ CNA
