Mero Baze is the most flagrant example of the deep crisis that has engulfed Albanian journalism. Instead of defending the truth and exercising the role of a check on power, he has chosen the path of paid defamation and open clientelism.

His shady connections with Erion Veliaj and the company that have involved hundreds of thousands of euros only raise serious doubts about his independence.

This is not just an ethical problem; it is a betrayal of the public who believe that the media is a guardian of democracy and transparency.

Mero Baze has turned himself into a political tool, serving as a spokesman for the power clans and embracing the practice of deliberate defamation to protect clientelist interests.

Any self-respecting journalist would qualitatively distance themselves from this type of distortion. Baze, on the contrary, is pursued and protected by shadowy structures that aim to devalue the role of the media and sabotage democracy.

He is a vile scumbag who has contributed to the total degradation of public trust in journalists and the decline of media ethical standards.

At a time when Albanian society is in urgent need of independent and responsible media, figures like Mero Baze are major obstacles that must be eliminated.

We cannot hope for true democratization if media mercenaries continue to be protected and promoted.

The public deserves more than paid propaganda and slander. Albanians deserve journalists who fight for transparency, justice and true media freedom, not servants of clientelism and corruption./ CNA
