Vehicle hits 3-year-old child/Witness: We heard loud noises, preventive barriers should be put in place

A tragic accident occurred this Friday afternoon in Kamenica, where a vehicle hit and killed a 3-year-old child and injured the mother who was accompanying him.

The serious event did not go unnoticed by those present.

A witness told the media the first moments of the loud noise that signaled the serious collision, while also sharing some of the moments as the victim lay on the road.

Among other things, he stressed that this part of the axis is problematic, as such accidents occur every year, also requesting that measures be taken as soon as possible.

"I heard the noise. As soon as they left my house and I heard the noise that exploded, two big explosions. I heard it, I came here at the moment, when I saw the child was lying on the road. The mother was crying over the child, completely covered in mud.

And we helped him. We threw water on the child, we put alcohol on him so he could breathe, but he didn't react. The driver of the vehicle was there too. If he was with us, what would he do? We were all there in a daze.

The driver said, "I wasn't speeding, I don't know how I got away."

If I didn't see it, I don't doubt it, what would I doubt? I wasn't here, my house is upstairs.

The mother and child were running away on the side of the road. They were running home, their house is across the street.

This road is always a problem. It's always here, there have been accidents. Last year there was an accident here and down here.

"Like a year here, a year down there, every year. Barriers need to be built," the witness said. /CNA
