Diplomacy is favored/ Trump: Talks with Iran are giving positive signals

US President Donald Trump has praised the progress of the diplomatic process with Iran, stating that the talks are producing encouraging results.

During a statement to the media, Trump expressed optimism about the denuclearization process, emphasizing that despite recent military clashes, the parties are currently making significant progress.

The developments come at a time when indirect technical talks are taking place in Doha, Qatar, between Washington and Tehran, with the mediation of Qatar and Pakistan.

These meetings are being attended by American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who are focusing on critical issues such as ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and maintaining stability following recent regional tensions.

According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, the Trump administration has chosen to prioritize diplomatic dialogue, suspending options for a large-scale military campaign.

However, the parties still have to resolve sensitive issues, such as maritime traffic management and the issue of frozen Iranian financial assets, while talks are expected to continue in the coming weeks. /CNA
