Ilir Demaliaj: They raped me for parking

Journalist Ilir Demaliaj has made a statement to the media after the rape he was subjected to today.

Demaliaj said he was attacked by two people from the neighborhood, who claimed that the journalist had called the police to issue parking fines.

Which he denied and said he has no enmity with anyone.

 

 

"I was leaving the house and two people from the neighborhood, who have a shop there, attacked me. A policeman was giving me a ticket for illegal parking. They punched me because they said I had called the police, but I hadn't.

I don't owe anyone anything, nor do I have any animosity, but I have had constant threats, useless hatred. As Albanians, we are slandered online, in the media, we are a people that we already hate, but we don't understand that by doing so we will destroy ourselves.

Many people tell me why I stay, I stay wherever I please. I don't believe they beat me for my political views, but because I raised the problem of cleaning the parking lot in that area, because we can't enter the house. This is the place of the Cubans. They raped me in front of the police. The police are looking for them, they found them, but I don't know if they caught them. Is there a state here? I filed a complaint ," he said./CNA
