25 days of protest/President Begaj reacts

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, present at an event, spoke about the protests taking place in the country.

Begaj said that citizens are expressing their concerns in a peaceful manner.

Further in his speech, the president stated that he remains committed to protecting the Constitution and promoting a climate of cooperation.

 

" Citizens are publicly expressing their concerns and expectations peacefully.

In respect of the constitutional position, constitutional neutrality, I can emphasize that the right to express oneself and to participate in public life is a value protected by the Constitution, which must be exercised in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the country.

The consolidation of democracy and the sustainable development of the country rely on the joint commitment of citizens and institutions to act in accordance with the Constitution and the national and public interest.

The constitutional framework, together with the rules of the rule of law and democracy, constitute the main guarantee for the proper functioning of society.

"As President of the Republic, I remain committed to protecting the Constitution, the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as to promoting a climate of cooperation and dialogue that serves the national and public interest, the European future, and the country's Euro-Atlantic affiliation and values ," said Begaj.
