Rama: We will launch a parking program in cities with high traffic

Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered his speech at the event on underground infrastructure in urban areas.

Rama said that a parking program will soon be launched in cities where traffic is highest, while adding that priority will also be given to areas with high traffic due to tourism.

"We will specifically launch and support a program to create significant parking capacity, especially in cities with high traffic intensity. Citizen priority and areas with a load due to tourism. The parking program is special and has several components, for which all municipalities will have a written program. We have several formulas. In addition to directly financing the work of their construction, but also another formula to enable municipalities to access banks or cooperate with private entities ," said the Prime Minister.

Among other things, he announced that the government has a clear development plan for former industrial areas that are abandoned.

"Another important element is the pillar related to former industrial areas. We also have a clear work plan with the municipalities for them. These abandoned areas have been identified. We have created models that give us the opportunity to understand how we will develop them. Municipalities have also worked on local identity museums, which will have an important role in this process. Our rise cannot be sustainable if we do not enrich our tourist offer", said Rama. /CNA
