Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe responded today to rumors about a possible departure from the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group and an exit as an independent.

Through a post on social media, Braçe denied the idea of ??such a decision in the future, while also detailing the reasons.

Braçe explains that he will continue in the party he has been a part of for 35 years, while assuring that he has no reservations about expressing the truth within the SP, but also those said to Edi Rama's face.

My Word-Answer to three things:

I am a socialist, I do not become independent. I am partisan, not neutral, I take positions. I do not stand aside!

I am an elected MP in Tirana, I am not from the list, I have been an MP, I will continue to be an MP, I will not resign!

I will continue to stand up to my party, telling the truth, demanding accountability, criticizing, debating, opposing, proposing, approving there, face to face and from every corner of the territory I cover as an MP; so I don't need the protest and I don't want political capital from it!

No one would believe that if I left the SP group, I would be independent, even those who write this to me; I have been in the SP since its founding, I have been active in it for 35 years, I have lived in it and worked with it, I have fought battles here and there, as a socialist, holding positions without ever being neutral, that is, independent.

Meanwhile, I have been a deputy, I am a deputy and I will continue to be a deputy, not only in Unit 5, but in all of Tirana. There is no one in my unit today who does not know who is a deputy. There is no one in Tirana today who does not know that I am a deputy of this district. No one can say that the deputy has not come to my unit, neighborhood, block, street, alley, square below the palace; that is to say, the deputy has not answered me, has not represented me in the Assembly for my troubles and concerns or those of the neighborhood. So I have done the job, I am doing the job, I will do the job, I will not resign and I will respect the 25 thousand people who voted and trusted me with this job.

In the end, I will certainly continue to stand up to my party for truths that it refuses to see or has outside any agenda for 1001 reasons, including disregard, exclusion or arrogance; I have enough space to do this without any reservation, like on Saturday, face to face with the prime minister and the government.
