"A new thing in Albanian politics"/ Shehi: Protest is the way to

Politician Dashamir Shehi said today that the civic protest taking place in the country is the only way to overcome the two major parties.

While commenting on developments in the country, Shehi said on the "Now" show that this is a positive step, a gathering that is happening for the first time by Albanians.

According to Shehi, this civic stance comes as for several decades, political attention in Albania has been linked to only two figures, Edi Rama and Sali Berisha.

"I see it positively, as I see the whole protest. This is the first protest that has not been carried out by parties. The city has reacted positively because there are groups here. But the whole city has come out, especially on Saturday. After many years, something new is coming out. They are citizens with different ideas, it's not like they have any organization and there are many currents, but they have identified that this is the way to split between the two parties. This is new. You have seen that it has been discussed for three weeks, that for years we have been dealing with Rama-Berisha and Berisha-Rama", - said Shehi./CNA
