The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, denounced today what he described as another scandal in the country.

In a press conference, Berisha said that a criminal group, responsible for trafficking 50 tons of cocaine during 2020-2021 alone, is responsible for money laundering in Albania.

Berisha also shared specific names, while specifying that it is about money laundering mainly in the field of construction and tourism, which bought over 15 thousand square meters of land in Jale for 54 thousand euros.

"The latest crackdown on the Dritan Gjika, Eldi Dizdari, Shpëtim Aliu group has led to the confiscation of a multitude of assets and companies, mainly in the fields of construction and tourism, that were used to launder drug money.

At the head of the money laundering was Isa Aliu, the brother of Salvador, Shpëtim, the central figure supplying the Dizdari-Gjika group, responsible for trafficking 50 tons of cocaine during 2020-2021 alone.

Property number 33615, 4200 square meters, cadastral area 3844 was purchased for 1 million 680 thousand lek.

Property number 33616, 6600 square meters, cadastral area 3844 was purchased for 2 million 560 thousand lek.

So, as you can see, almost a total of 15 thousand square meters of land purchased for only 400 liras per square meter or 3.2 euros per square meter.
