Lamallari meets with Dutch counterpart/ Focus on deepening operational

Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari visited The Hague where he met with his Dutch counterpart, David van Weel.

Through a post on social media, Lamallari writes that the focus of the meeting was the commitment to deepen information exchange and police operational cooperation.

The minister writes that cooperation with the Dutch side will continue with an agreement between the two governments.

A very fruitful meeting with the Dutch counterpart, the Minister of Justice and Security, David van Weel, with whom we discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of security and law enforcement, through an Agreement between the two governments, which has already been shared by the Ministry of the Interior with the Dutch side.

I reconfirmed the unwavering will of the Albanian government and shared with it Albania's concrete results in the fight against organized crime, including the establishment of the Asset Recovery Office at the State Police and the effective management of seized and confiscated assets by the Seized and Confiscated Assets Administration Agency, highlighting the potential for cooperation in strengthening financial investigation mechanisms and increasing the capacities of law enforcement institutions.

We confirmed our joint commitment to deepen information exchange and operational police cooperation. Grateful for the continued support of the Netherlands in our reform processes and on the path towards membership in the European Union. Our progress with the negotiations is evident and the ambitious objective of concluding the technical phase by 2027 is fully achievable.
