"Parade" of 6 planets this February 28, here's how you can follow it

This Saturday, February 28, 2026, is the moment when six planets are closest together in the sky, in what is also known in astronomy as the 'parade' of the planets.

The planets that will be visible close to each other in the sky are: Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus.

The planets are not in a straight line from our position, but their appearance close together is due to their common orbital plane around the sun. This phenomenon is interesting to watch, but has no significant physical impact on Earth.

Tips for seeing this celestial phenomenon:

Just after sunset, look to the western horizon. The planets will follow a visible arc upward from west to south.

Find a place with an open western horizon, such as a field or a place on a high floor.

The less artificial light, the better the sky will stand out.
