If you think astronauts only eat dehydrated foods and small meals, it's time to think again.

NASA's new lunar mission, Artemis II, is not only making history as the first manned mission around the Moon in half a century, but it's also revealing something equally impressive: that eating in space has become a true science.

NASA has revealed that there are 189 different types of food and drinks on board Artemis II.

The most common foods on the menu include: whole wheat bread, vegetables, breakfast sausage, walnut couscous, mango salad, blueberry granola, almonds, cashews, grilled beef tenderloin, broccoli, macaroni and cheese, tropical fruit salad, squash, and cauliflower.

In fact, they didn't forget about sweets, including cookies, the most popular choice, chocolate, cake, caramel-coated almonds, pudding and cake. With a moderately high tolerance for spices, the crew hasn't lost their taste for their meals in space. Some of the culinary flavors include maple syrup, chocolate spread, peanut butter, hot sauce, spicy mustard, strawberry jam, honey, cinnamon and almond butter.

Astronauts have access to over 10 types of drinks, including coffee, green tea, lemonade, cocoa, apple cider, pineapple drink, mango-peach smoothie and breakfast drinks in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavors. /CNA
