'Red Moon'/ Rare eclipse, here's where and when it can be seen

This March 3rd, a total lunar eclipse is expected to occur, this time called the 'Red Moon', one of the biggest astronomical events of the year.

This is the first full moon of spring, and during the eclipse it takes on a reddish hue because of the way the Earth's atmosphere refracts the Sun's light onto the Moon.

Where and when can it be seen?

This eclipse will be visible from many parts of the world that are on the night side of the Earth, such as parts of North and Central America, Australia and the Pacific, as well as East Asia.
Only clear weather will provide a clear view of the sky.

How to watch the eclipse live

If the view in the sky is not clear from where you are, you can watch it live online through free broadcasts from different parts of the world. /CNA
