This Monday, Agim Doçi, one of the most popular and respected poets, died.

He closed his eyes forever at QSUT, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. Homages in honor of Doci will be held on Tuesday, as well as the burial ceremony.

But who is Agim Doçi?

The poet is the winner of over 50 awards, among them two times representative with his lyrics in Eurovision.

Anjeza Shahini and Kejsi Tola went to Eurovision with his songs.

Described as a great poet and one of the sharpest Albanian minds, Agim Doçi was born on May 9, 1948. He graduated in Engineering, but had a rare passion for literature. Agim Doçi has worked as an engineer in Industrial Assemblies, participating in many important facilities such as Cement Factory, Metallurgical, Laç Superphosphate, Tirana Polygraphic, etc.

In the last years of the 80's he worked at the Wood Plant "Misto Mame" as chief engineer for energy. In 1989, he was sentenced to work three shifts at the cardboard factory. Included in the December 1990 movements.

Agim Doçi has created more than 3,000 song texts that have been sung in Albanian festivals and continue to be heard even today.

He has written dozens of patriotic songs, among which "Is innocence killed", "You Albania give me honor" sung by Kastriot Tusha and Manjola Nallbani, "Where are you Kosovo", "I am a soldier in the KLA" and many others.

Among the songs that are still heard, we can list "Don't spoil my happiness", "We love happiness", "You disturbed my sleep at night", "I lost Spring", etc.

Among the singers he collaborated with are Aurela Gaçe, Parashqevi Simaku, Leonora Jakupi, Myfarete Laze, Bleona Qereti, Albërije Hadërgjonaj, Françesk Radi, Kastriot Tusha, Luiz Ejlli, and many, many others.

Also, he has published several books of poetry such as "Come on wood with prey", "Falled on loneliness
", "Ritual of the cross".
