Sentenced to 24 years in prison for murder/ 60-year-old arrested in England

Another phase of the international operation, codenamed "The Wanted", is being finalized in cooperation with the British Police.

A citizen sentenced to 24 years in prison for premeditated murder is located, captured and arrested in England.

As a result of informational and operational coordination between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Manchester counterparts, within the framework of the codenamed operation "The Wanted", the internationally wanted citizen, Sabri Sopoti, 60 years old, was arrested in England, with the aim of extradition to Albania.

The Dibra Court has sentenced this citizen to 24 years in prison for the criminal offenses of "Premeditated Murder" and "Unauthorized Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition".

On 24.12.1999, citizen Sabri Sopoti killed citizen BK with a firearm (automatic).

Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with Interpol Manchester, with the aim of extraditing the 60-year-old to Albania.
