On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the murder of the warrior and patriot Vasil Tromara from the village of Kyteze i Devolli, an activity was organized to commemorate the figure of this outstanding activity. The activity initiated by the historian Niko Kotherja, supported by the Devoll Municipality, took place near the premises of the Cultural Center in the city of Bilishti, where an exhibition related to the activity and activity of Tromara was also displayed.

Vasil Tromara's contribution to the Albanian patriotic movement has been distinguished, with the great contribution as a fighter of the patriotic squads in the period of Independence and consolidation of the Albanian state.

He was an important part of the efforts for independence and national education. Historian Niko Kotherja shows the activity of the patriot from Qyteza, who left his mark on the history of the Albanian people.

"It is important to return attention to the figures of our national history, originating from the Devolli area but who have had a great contribution not only in this area and in Albania, but also abroad. One of them is Vasil Tromara who comes from a family that has great contributions in terms of the Albanians' patriotic struggle. At the same time, Vasil Tromara is one of those who raised the flag and united the Korça district with the government that emerged from the Congress of Lushnja, in 1920. He participated with arms in regarding the Independence of Albania, he also contributed to the consolidation of the Albanian state. He is one of the founders of the Congress of Lushnja and in 1924 he came as commander of the gendarmerie of the sub-prefecture of Bilishti, where he was executed 100 years ago at the end of June."

In the exhibition displayed during the activity, various documents, historical photographs and old original publications collected over the years for Vasil Tromara were exhibited.

"Today we have prepared an exhibition which is divided into two parts, in terms of authentic original materials of the time that come through publications of writings, early photographs. We also have other stands that show his activity inside and outside, with the organizations he has had, and with the culminating points of Vasil Tromara's activity."

For the chairman of the Devolli Association, Guri Seferi, the commemoration of these historical figures with great contributions to the Devolli area and beyond, are quite important.

"this is a maximum assessment given not only to the people of Devolli but also to the Korça region, for the reason that the contribution of the Tromara family from the town of Devolli is wider than that of Devolli and Korça. It is a patriotic family, with the greatest contribution of given by the person that we are remembering today, he who was a patriot and a leader of the Bilisht province, to protect the land and the name of Albania. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of the Motherland, today we not only remember the activity , the contribution of Vasil Tromara but also that of his only son who fell in the war, becoming one of the first martyrs of the National Liberation War of the Korça district."

At the end of the activity, the participants had the opportunity to see the exhibition, while the historian Niko Kotherja gave them a book to familiarize themselves with the figure of Vasil Tromara./ CNA
