Trial in The Hague/ Thaçi's lawyer: There is no evidence that a

Hashim Thaçi's lawyer, Luka Misetic, in presenting his arguments today at the trial in The Hague, focused on the SPS' arguments for joint criminal enterprise.

Lawyer Luka Misetic stated that there is no evidence or documents showing that this organization was agreed upon. The lawyer further said that no witness has spoken about the existence of this enterprise.

Thaçi's defense stated that regarding the alleged joint criminal enterprise, the prosecution has not asked any questions to any witness.

Lawyer Misetic said that for a large part of the time referred to in the indictment, Hashim Thaçi was not in Kosovo at all, a fact that the Special Prosecution is trying to ignore.

“ There was no evidence of meetings where this intent was discussed, no written documents to show that this intent was agreed upon or discussed, no witness testified to the existence of this intent. In fact, every witness who had the opportunity to speak on the matter refuted the SPO’s theory, and worse, the SPO did not question any witness.

 

"The prosecution is trying to circumvent the problem of Mr. Thaçi's absence in Kosovo, arguing that members of the General Staff were consulted by phone or were notified later regarding the results of the General Staff meetings ," the lawyer said./CNA
