Israeli Ambassador to UN Warns: Ceasefire in Lebanon Not 100% Guaranteed

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Dannon, has expressed doubts about the durability of the recent ceasefire in Lebanon, saying the agreement is not 100% guaranteed.

In an interview with CNN, Dannon stated that the Lebanese government does not have full control over Hezbollah, the Iran-backed group, which he said is continuing to launch rockets in an attempt to sabotage the ceasefire.

“Every time we see a threat, we take action,” he said, stressing that Israel will continue to respond to any attack.

His comments came after a meeting at the White House, where the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors met with US President Donald Trump. During the meeting, Trump announced a three-week extension of the existing 10-day ceasefire.

Dannon expressed hope that the Lebanese army will be able to implement the agreement and maintain stability, although he remains skeptical about its complete success./ CNA
