Second round of Israel-Lebanon talks at the White House/ Trump expected to attend

US President Donald Trump is expected to be present at part of the direct Israel-Lebanon talks, which will take place tonight at the White House.

According to international media, Trump also plans to greet the ambassadors of Israel and Lebanon to the US when they arrive for talks.

The second round of talks will take place amid the fragile 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon, which expires in the coming days.

Israeli Ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, and Lebanese Ambassador to the US, Nada Hamadeh Moawad, are expected to represent their countries in the direct talks. US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, is also expected to attend part of the meeting.

The US delegation added that US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who was not present at last week's talks, and US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa and State Department adviser Michael Needham are again part of the US team. /CNA
