The director of the "5D" file, Redi Molla, was released from prison some time ago after the court decided that he should remain in a lighter security measure, that is, be released from prison because he had heart health problems.

The same scheme seems to be being used with Erion Veliaj.

Today, "Ora News" reported that Erion Veliaj is expected to undergo a check-up at the private hospital "Salus" in a few days with a private doctor named Zingaretti, where he will perform a coronary, or heart check-up.

"Ora News" reports that Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, who has been in detention for more than 14 months, will undergo a specialized cardiac examination this Wednesday, raising questions about whether this is a new strategy to secure his release.

According to "Ora News", after a previous failed attempt to use a colonoscopy for similar purposes, attention has now shifted to a possible cardiac problem.

Transfer to the private Salus hospital for a coronary angiogram is being seen as a possible tactic to secure a medical report that could lead to the relaxation of the security measure.

"Official sources from the General Directorate of Prisons have confirmed that Veliaj will be accompanied to the "Salus" hospital on Wednesday, May 6. Also, hospital sources confirmed the meeting for a coronarography with the Italian specialist, Professor Zingaretti. Both institutions have officially accepted the planned visit," reports Ora News among others.

The scheme looks almost the same.

Redi Molla was released from prison and went home with heart health problems. This is being requested to be used with Erion Veliaj as well.

A private hospital, "Salus" and an Italian doctor, Zingaretti

Why doesn't Erion Veliaj go to a public hospital, to cardiac surgery, to Albanian doctors, where the state pays doctors, nurses and millions of euros in Albanian taxes every year for health services?

Money that is paid for every citizen to receive the service. Prime Minister Rama was also operated on at the public hospital some time ago.

While Erion Veliaj goes to a private hospital, he finds an Italian doctor Zingaretti and "Salus" to do the checkup. Is "Salus" better than the Emergency Cardiosurgery or Cardiology in Albania? There is no question.

Beyond pride, no one can say that a professor from Italy is more skilled than some Albanian cardiac surgeons or cardiologists or hemodynamists who perform heart checks, where they perform checks on thousands of citizens every month, tens of thousands every year, maybe hundreds of times. Erion Veliaj apparently, according to the confirmation provided by the General Directorate of Prisons, has chosen to have the check-up at the private Salus hospital with Dr. Zingaretti, according to Ora News.

The question arises: Is it another scheme to get Erion Veliaj out of prison or a real check?

We hope and pray that he does not have any heart health problems because he is facing a long legal process with 13 serious criminal charges and must be held accountable under the law.

But, Veliaj has chosen to postpone these trials, clash with judges and prosecutors by attacking them, destroying evidence as is the case with Klotilda Bushka, former chairwoman of the Laws Commission, or by lobbying in the US with slander and untruths.

So today we are faced with the fact: Is Erion Veliaj going to the hospital for a health problem, we hope he doesn't have one, or is he going to the hospital to find a reason, a reason to get out of prison where he is being held on charges of 13 serious criminal offenses and not for sport but because he destroys evidence, intimidates, attacks, accuses judges and prosecutors or, as revealed in wiretaps, invents manipulations with two million euros in payment, schemes and scenarios that beyond the problems of a battle with justice do not indicate cardiological problems./ CNA
