8th Summit of the European Political Community/ Rama publishes photos

The 8th summit of the European Political Community took place in Yerevan, Armenia, on Monday. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage from his participation in the summit, where he is seen talking with the head of the European Council, Antonio Costa; the President of the EC, Ursula Von der Leyen, the EU High Representative, Kaja Kalla, and leaders such as Emmanuel Macron, Giorgia Meloni and the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.

This year's summit brought together some 48 heads of state and government from across the continent under the motto "Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe".

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between European countries, coordinating actions to increase democratic sustainability, and advancing economic and energy connectivity and security. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney attended the summit, marking the first time a non-European country has participated in the meeting. 

The European Political Community was launched in 2022, the brainchild of French President Emmanuel Macron, following the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as a kind of intergovernmental forum for political discussions on the future of Europe. The next summit is scheduled to be held in Ireland in November 2026. /CNA
