Case of sexual harassment by surgeon/ Korça Hospital responds: The doctor

Korça Regional Hospital has reacted to the case of sexual harassment by a surgeon towards a patient.

In the public reaction, it was announced that doctor NN has been suspended from his duties and functions.

It is also emphasized that the institution has immediately initiated internal administrative verifications, while every procedure will be followed correctly in accordance with the legislation in force and the results of the investigations of the competent bodies.

"Regarding the incident reported at the Korça Regional Hospital, we would like to inform you that the institution was immediately made aware of the case and cooperated without delay with law enforcement agencies to follow all necessary procedures.

Considering this an extremely sensitive and serious issue, Korça Regional Hospital expresses the firm position that any claim or behavior that violates the dignity, integrity and safety of patients is unacceptable and must be treated with full institutional and legal responsibility.

The institution has immediately initiated internal administrative verifications, while every procedure will be followed correctly in accordance with the legislation in force and the results of the investigations of the competent authorities.

For this reason, the doctor has been suspended from his duties until a decision is made by the competent authorities.

Out of respect for the investigative process and to guarantee its integrity, Korça Regional Hospital cannot provide further details on the case at this stage.
