The lawyer of the leader of the PL, Ilir Meta, Kujtim Cakrani, has appeared at the Special Court. The Special Court will hold a hearing today on Meta's appeal for the change of the security measure, followed by a hearing on the merits.
"We have the replacement of the security measure today and then the trial on the merits. I hope we have some good news today. I haven't forgotten that I owe you some money," Cakrani told reporters before entering the GJKKO.
Meta, who has been in custody since October 2024, has been charged with corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets in connection with the "CEZ-DIA" affair and LSI lobbying in the US. His ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, also faces the same charges.
