"History has many secrets"/ Martin Çeço's sister

Martin Çeço's sister has spoken out about her brother's passing and demanded justice for his murder.

In an interview with Euronews Albania, she also recounted the last conversation with her brother before he disappeared and his body was found in a reservoir.

She has requested that the police not hide it, while she has requested that his friend, Rezart Dokolli, be questioned. Martin's sister says that there are many secrets in this incident and that the state and the police have not revealed anything.

" Before he disappeared, Martini called me on the phone and told me that he would come to stay one night in Tirana and bring me cherries. The next day, as I was going to work, he called me on video telling me that he couldn't come. I saw that he was blushing and almost crying. I was going to leave for work and I told him to talk at dinner, since he didn't come. We hung up the phone and that was the last time I saw my brother.  The next day my sister called me and said: 'Martini is missing'. I immediately left work and left for Korça. As soon as I arrived in Maliq, I filed a complaint. We started searching for relatives, family members and friends. The next day we went to look for him in the village of Rezart Dokolli, Martini's friend. His father came out, while Rezart himself hid.

As soon as we left the Dokolli family's house, the village headman called us and said: 'Where are you? Come, because a body has been found in the reservoir.' I was completely shocked there. We returned to the village with my father and the place was filled with police. I went to the reservoir and watched from a distance as they were taking him out. The police did not let us see my brother. There I lost consciousness and I do not know what happened next.  They took us home and the women of the village told me to be strong and honor my brother. Then, they took Martin to the morgue, even though I did not want to. No one went to identify him or not. They kept him in the morgue for a night and then the coffin was not opened at home either, even though I wanted to see it. This has remained a mystery to me.

Martini had no problems with anyone, he was a quiet guy. His friend, Rezart Dokolli, should definitely be questioned. Other people who called him, as well as Xhoni Potka, were not questioned at all.  I demand that the truth be revealed and that the police not hide this incident. I will follow this case to the end. Those who participated in the murder of my brother and those who hid this incident must be held accountable.

"We had the last hearing on April 30, 2026. I went, but they didn't let me enter the court. There are many secrets in this story. The state, the police and the lawyers have not revealed anything.  I don't know why the case is not being revealed, maybe Martini saw something he shouldn't have seen. The police haven't even revealed the phone calls and they don't give me any answers. I demand that the truth comes to light and that this event is no longer hidden," she said. /CNA
