Muka, accusations against academic: He receives over 20 thousand euros for

Pedagogue and former Deputy Minister of Education, Taulant Muka, has criticized Albanian academic Arben Merkoçi.

In a reaction on social media, Muka, referring to Arben Merkoç, said that the academic is proof of how the diaspora is rewarded and used as propaganda.

Muka has emphasized that Merkoçi receives a fixed salary from the Academy of Sciences, receives money from pompous conferences and for every trip to Albania, receives payment as a director at a private university and funding from the AADF for the scientific board of the READ program.

According to Muka, the gift that Merkoçi is giving to Albania is the signature to propose Skënder Gjinushi as president of the Academy of Sciences.

Muka says that in the case of Merkoç, Albania invests while Spain receives the credits.

"An Albanian academic from Spain is perfect proof of how the diaspora is rewarded for being used as propaganda."

-Receives a fixed salary from the Albanian Academy of Sciences.

-He receives money for pompous conferences (over 20 thousand euros) and every trip to Albania.

-He receives payment as the "head" of a branch at a private university.

-Receives funding from AADF for the READ program scientific board.

..etc etc

So, Albania invests. Invests. Invests.

When he publishes scientific articles, his affiliation is only Spain, where he works.

When he appears in the media, he says:

"Albanian science needs more money."

And the greatest gift to Albania?

Signature to nominate Skënder Gjinushi as president of the Academy of Sciences

In a nutshell:

"Albania pays the subscription. Spain gets the credits. And the diaspora is used as an advertisement that Albanian science is moving forward, while the parameters show the status quo," writes Muka./ CNA
