The Director General of the Public Procurement Agency, Reida Kashta, stated at a conference on Chapter 5, in the process of Albania's integration into the EU, that there has been a good level of preparation regarding the field of Public Procurement.

Kashta said that the EU has stated without reservations that the Public Procurement system is ready to become part of the intergovernmental agreement with the World Trade Organization.

“Public Procurement is a special chapter for the European integration process.

This chapter has an important role and burdens us with responsibilities. We are conducting negotiations in two directions. Public Procurement was one of the first chapters to be opened and we did not receive intermediate conditions for opening but only closing conditions. There has been a good level of preparation. This is one of our challenges.

"The EU has stated without reservation that the public procurement system is ready to become part of the intergovernmental agreement with the World Trade Organization," said Kashta./ CNA
