Muka targets Merkoç/ Virtual reply, Erion Dasho: Give Caesar what he

Doctor Erion Dasho responds to Taulant Muka for the accusations against academic Arben Merkoçi.

According to the doctor, there are many successful Albanians in the world who have chosen not to confront political leaders, in order to implement the development projects they have for Albania.

Dasho brought the example of Rifat Latifi, who while dealing with a very important project for Albania had suffered personal losses of tens of thousands of dollars a year.

The doctor emphasizes that a successful professional in any field makes no small sacrifice when trying to initiate something in a scientifically backward country like Albania, so according to him, Caesar should be given what he deserves.

"Taulant, at this point I would like to debate with you. There are many successful Albanians in the world (including the academic in question) who have chosen not to confront political leaders, in order to implement development projects they have for Albania. I personally worked with one of them, Rifat Latifi. At the time when we were implementing the Telemedicine Program together, Rifat had personal losses of several tens of thousands of dollars per year. This is because 20% of the time he was paid as Director of the Telemedicine Program, and the salary for this 20% was much lower than the salary as a surgeon in the USA. Generally, a successful professional in any field makes a significant sacrifice when trying to initiate something in a scientifically backward country like Albania. As for the moral dilemma, political and social perspective, etc., these are the person's own choices, which can be criticized separately from the scientific aspect. In a sentence, "Give Caesar what belongs to Caesar"", Dasho writes./ CNA
