Investigated by SPAK/ Rama defends former head of KPP

At today's media conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama commented on the reactions to SPAK's investigations against the former head of the Public Prosecutions Commission, Jonaid Myzyri.

According to Rama, Myzyri was unfairly attacked even though he was investigated for violating equality in tenders.

"The man who transformed the Public Procurement Commission became a target of mud for a period of time, because as happens in a state with independent justice, he was investigated after a denunciation. And after the investigation, it turned out that he was without any guilt. But the mud that was thrown at him to destroy him personally and family took its toll. And there has been no apology for what they did to that man ," said Rama. 

In April of this year, the Special Prosecution Office requested the Special Court to dismiss the case against former head of the Public Procurement Commission, Jonaid Myzyri. He was indicted by SPAK for the criminal offense of violating equality in public tenders or auctions, committed in collaboration.

Myzyri was investigated in connection with a tender procedure worth around 2.2 million euros, conducted in 2020 for the maintenance of the Rrëshen-Shpal, Shpal-Qafë Bene-Hadroj and Shpal-Ura e Repsit road segments, with a total length of around 59 kilometers. He was meanwhile suspended from duty by decision of the Special Court. /CNA
