GJKKO leaves Meta in prison/ Accepts SPAK's legal position: The Supreme

The GJKKO has accepted the legal position of SPAK, which has opposed the request of Meta's lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, for the replacement of the security measure, emphasizing that the decision of the Joint Panels of the Supreme Court does not bring anything new to this process, after using the lawyer as an argument during the hearing. 

As a result, the GJKKO, taking into account the SPAK's reasoning and the lack of evidence from the defense, has decided to leave Ilir Meta in prison, thus rejecting his request for a replacement of the security measure.

"The decision of the Joint Panel of the Supreme Court does not bring anything new to this process. The defense did not present any evidence for the substitution of the measure, for the mitigation of security needs or for reasonable suspicion. There are no conditions or circumstances for the substitution of the measure," said prosecutor Kllapi during the session.

The Joint Panels of the Supreme Court on May 4 overturned Sokol Sadushi regarding the partial change of the unified practice.

The announced decision only included interventions and clarifications to the previous decision on unified practice for security measures, without overturning the 2011 decision.

So it was simply an "update", a refresh that does nothing more than leave in force the decision of the United Colleges of 14.10.2011.

The United Colleges upheld the decision to follow the practice established in 2011 and not to leave mud in Sokol Sadushi's face or the shame of his "violent" intervention to make an interim decision that ultimately served only Erion Veliaj./ CNA
