"One of the best mechanisms"/ Karakaçi inspects the Elbasan 3

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, inspected the progress of works at the Elbasan 3 substation site.

Karakaçi said that this investment is one of the best mechanisms for releasing renewable energy. The minister said that over 10% of the energy produced comes from photovoltaic energy.

Energy which, according to the minister, is expected to have 1,000 additional megawatts of generating capacity by the end of 2027.

 

" This is a very important investment as it is one of the best mechanisms to unleash renewable energy in Albania. The measures taken by the Albanian Government and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy in recent years are impressive in fact. We have over 10% this year of the energy produced in the country coming from photovoltaic energy. By the end of 2026 we have about 600 megawatts of capacity already approved by the Ministry and we expect that by the end of 2027 we will have an additional 1,000 megawatts of generating capacity from photovoltaics ," said Karakaçi.
