Former ambassador Roland Bimo commented today on the geopolitical developments of recent days, amid tensions in the Middle East and the US president's visit to China.

Invited to A2 CNN, Bimo emphasized that in the times we live in, wars are being oriented towards commercial or regime-changing types, also due to nuclear weapons.

According to Bimo, the fear of these developments is deeply felt by the Chinese who are in a state of lack of legitimacy for their ruling party.

"In the time we live in, there is no longer any possibility of waging a world war, as the first war was waged, or the second war because nuclear weapons are present. The war that is being waged today is either a trade war or a war to change regimes from within and the Chinese are very afraid, sensitive and this also comes from the lack of legitimacy of the Communist Party of China, because they feel at every step that as long as they do not have them, they are not the product of free and fair elections, but are a product of a regime that was established by force of arms in 1949.
