"Two 'Durres Marina' facilities have suffered subsidence"/

The National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection has reacted to media reports on issues related to the sustainability and safety of two of the "Durres Marina" facilities.

The IKMT announcement states that a special group, composed of IKMT inspectors, representatives of the AZT, inspectors of the IMT of the Municipality of Durres and representatives of the Construction Institute, has carried out verifications of the situation on the ground.

At the conclusion of the inspection, IKMT announces that it has resulted that two objects, specifically 02 and 04, have suffered a decrease of 28 and 18 cm.

It is further reported that IKMT has requested the project implementing company to take measures to implement the necessary technical reinforcements, which guarantee the stability of the structures.

FULL DECLARATION:

In response to reports published in recent weeks in the media on issues related to the sustainability and safety of two of the facilities of the "Durrës Marina" development project, the National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection (IKMT) clarifies the following:

In accordance with the legal provisions and functional duties, by order of the Chief Inspector of the IKMT, a special inspection group was established to verify the situation on the ground. The control group consisted of IKMT inspectors, representatives of the Territorial Development Agency (AZHT), inspectors of the IMT of the Municipality of Durres, as well as representatives of the Construction Institute (a specialist in the field).

The verification was carried out in relation to the implementation of the construction permit no. 2349/12 prot., dated 10.09.2023, approved by Decision no. 34, dated 01.08.2023, of the KKT, for the facilities: “Residential and service building with 1, 6, 7, 8 and 10 floors above ground, 1 partially underground parking floor and 1 underground parking floor” and “Residential and service building with 1, 6, 7 and 8 floors above ground, 1 partially underground parking floor and 1 underground parking floor”, in management areas A02 and A04, currently in the construction phase of the external arrangements.

At the conclusion of the inspection, the topographic report of the Construction Institute confirms that:

Building 02, with construction phases 1, 6, 7 and 8 floors above ground and 1 floor underground, has suffered a decrease of 28 cm;

Building 04, with construction phases 1, 6, 7, 8 and 10 floors above ground and 1 floor underground, has suffered a decrease of 18 cm.

Based on these findings, IKMT has officially addressed the project implementing company, requesting immediate measures to implement the necessary technical reinforcements, which guarantee the sustainability of the structures.

This reinforcement project, before implementation, must receive approval from the legal authorities responsible for ensuring compliance with the technical conditions for planning and implementing construction works.

Thanking the media for their cooperation and contribution, IKMT guarantees that in coordination with other state institutions according to their area of ??responsibility, it remains maximally engaged and will continuously supervise the implementation of legal provisions at construction sites. / CNA
