Against the "TID" project/ Residents of Durrës, protest in front

The citizens of Durrës are protesting today in front of the municipality, against the "TID" project. The residents have requested a meeting with the mayor, Emirjana Sako, while stating that they will not vacate their apartments and will not withdraw from the protests.

"We are old houses with tapi and in the center of Durrës. It has nothing to do with archeology. We are here every day until they give us an answer. In what country in the world would a house with tapi be demolished to make a flower garden? We will not give up," one of the citizens told the media.

Protesters oppose the demolition of their homes, affected by the project to revitalize the historic center of Durres. This is the second time that protests have been held against this project, while previous protests have also included clashes with the police. /CNA
