Will the agreement with Italy on immigrants be renewed? / Hoxha answers

Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha has responded to a journalist's question in Brussels about whether Italy's agreement with Albania on migrants will be renewed.

Hoxha expressed uncertainty about this, assuming that by then Albania will be a member state of the European Union and the situation, therefore, will be different.

The Minister emphasized that this statement should in no way be interpreted as a change in Albania's position regarding the protocol.

“A journalist in Brussels asked me if the protocol between Albania and Italy would be renewed after the end of the initial five-year period.

I responded by saying: “I’m not sure, assuming that by then Albania will be a member state of the European Union and the situation will, therefore, be different.”

It was that simple. It wasn't a decision, but simply a momentary reflection, expressed with sincerity and spontaneity.

This statement should in no way be interpreted as a change in Albania's position regarding the protocol.

Unfortunately, in today's world, noise often spreads faster than argument, logic, and context.
