"Territorialja" in Shkodër/Mazniku: Let's build an effective

The co-chair of the Territorial Reform Commission, Arbjan Mazniku, stated today from Shkodra, where the next public hearing is taking place, that the expectations from this reform aim to focus on good governance and local services.

In his speech, Mazniku stated that having functional municipalities is not an element that is related only to the institution, but to the daily life of citizens. 

As the socialist emphasized, Albania, at this moment on its path towards European integration, needs sustainable development, through the construction of a local system that governs efficiently.

 "The daily life of a person is connected to the affairs of the municipality. The way to school, water for washing, city waste, housing and even the management of cemeteries. Therefore, when we talk about how municipalities should function, we are talking about an element that affects the daily life of every person in Albania. Therefore, having functional municipalities is not an element that is related only to the institution, but to daily life. We should not have some areas that develop a lot and some areas that do not manage to develop. We can manage to have more sustainable development. We need to build a system of local government that manages to efficiently govern its citizens in the territory, provide services and distribute welfare throughout the territory", said Mazniku. /CNA
