Tourism propaganda/ Institutions "on standby" or just promises on paper?

2026-05-15 12:21:00, Politikë CNA

At a time when the tourist season has begun with lingering problems, Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu visited the Port of Saranda two days ago to deliver on the next government promises.

Through language that aims to hide management failures on the ground, Koçiu presented Albania as a "European example" for the lack of queues, while the reality at border points speaks to the opposite.

Koçiu tried to compare the situation in Albania with EU systems, claiming that our country is managing the flow better than member states, a statement that sounds more like electoral propaganda than a genuine analysis of the situation at the border.

The plan of measures presented by the Deputy Prime Minister includes the usual list of promises: more counters, patrols at sea, and fire brigade readiness.

However, beyond statements about "summer health centers" and "cultural events," the government does not address the real problems that concern southern businesses, such as uncontrolled price increases, labor shortages, and insecurity on beaches from floating vehicles, which cause tragedies every year.

Instead of analyzing the real challenges of a sector that is growing organically without proper state assistance, the Deputy Prime Minister was content with the rhetoric of "guaranteed success."/ CNA
