Prime Minister Edi Rama, in today's episode of the "Flasim" podcast, also spoke about Public Procurement, which according to him is one of the most important chapters of the EU membership process.
Rama states that Albania is first in the region in the field of Public Procurement and that in some indicators it is above the average of EU countries.
Among other things, he added that 95% of services are obtained online from e-Albania, although the portal occasionally does not function for any service.
"This week we shared some meaningful data on Albania's extraordinary performance in the field of public procurement. One of the most important chapters of the European Union accession process and a chapter where, unlike the completely distorted picture of reality on local channels and portals, Albania is seen as positively transformed and is assessed with significant progress.
Today, based on the European assessment, Albania is the first in the region and with a difference from other countries in the region in all public procurement indicators, while in some key indicators Albania is above the average of the European Union countries. For example, while the average of procedures with one bidder in EU countries is over 32%, in Albania this figure is 23.5%, while in public works procurement it drops to 12%. Other data also speak precisely to the fact that the fight against corruption, which is not simply and only the fight on the front that we enabled and that, thanks to our will, was opened on the side of justice, but is also the daily systematic fight on the side of modernizing the state and building systems that make the presence of corruption less and less present.
"The results show that, on the one hand, our citizens have been served for years with a click in the digital services system, where 95% of the services they request from the state are on the e-Albania platform. So, there are no more queues, no more bribes to skip the queue and so on, but there is a direct relationship with the state. While, on the other hand, it is precisely the entire public procurement system. That is why I am proud today that Albania is mentioned as a positive example by those who judge us objectively, unlike what happens in the distorted mirrors of popular, subjective, partisan and half-blind or completely blind judges ," said Rama.
During his speech, he also spoke about the signing of an agreement between the state and the banking system to support Albanian entrepreneurship. Rama said that this will help small and medium-sized enterprises grow through low-interest loans.
"This week we also signed the very important partnership between the state and the banking system to support Albanian entrepreneurship. A step was taken that was announced, but it is a step in the right direction with an extraordinary potential for the further growth of Albanian entrepreneurship. The signing of the partnership between the government, the banking system and the Bank of Albania's credit line for the national program for financing small and medium-sized enterprises is an open door, a program that gives many more opportunities to small and medium-sized enterprises to grow through low-interest loans and the government's sovereign guarantee for their credit. A program born from the increasingly vocal need of Albanian small entrepreneurship to grow based on the foundations laid with a lot of work, with a lot of effort, with a lot of effort and, in many cases, with the experience gained in emigration. So, through this program, we strongly believe that, by making available a credit line with interests from 2 to 3% and a sovereign guarantee from "30 to 70%, based on risk, we will provide great concrete opportunities to thousands of Albanian enterprises," the prime minister said. /CNA
