In today's plenary session, an interpellation was held between Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe and the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, on construction safety.

Karakaçi, in his response to the MP, said that a draft law has been drafted that aims to establish structures to supervise the construction market. A draft law that aims to increase security.

The Minister said that imported materials must be equipped with quality certificates from European laboratories, while domestic materials must be accredited by local laboratories.

Karakaçi said at the session that the goal of the ministry he heads and the proposed draft laws is to provide safe, quality facilities in line with the public interest.

 

"A draft law that aims to establish structures for market surveillance in order to increase security. Legal measures are being taken for the approval of this draft law."

Control and discipline in the work, determines the rules and responsibilities of all entities that have the duty to control the quality in the works. Imported materials must have a quality certificate from accredited European laboratories, while foreign materials must be certified by local laboratories.

Materials are only placed on the site when accompanied by a certificate of compliance with standards. During the building permit process, the development control process assesses whether the request complies with the planning.

"Our goal is to provide safe, quality facilities in line with the public interest ," said Karakaçi.
