Arben Malaj: Rama is a victim of his own internal monsters, far from state

Former Minister of Finance, Arben Malaj, shared today some moments from his political life with former Socialist leader Fatos Nano and current SP leader, Edi Rama.

In an interview with 'Euronews Albania', Malaj focused on his acquaintance with Prime Minister Rama, which, as he said, happened at the funeral ceremony of his father, Kristaq Rama, while he was accompanied by Nano.

Malaj further commented on Rama's political style, which, according to him, is far from state-building, while highlighting his emotion and charisma as a leader as a positive element.

"I first met him physically when his father died and we went with Nano there, along with Ben Blushi. We were a group at his house to console him. Then came the moment when he entered politics. Nano had a theory for all those who criticized him, and rightly so: 'Instead of criticizing, tell me how it's done, come on'. This was the theory he always said. Rama also apparently agreed. I had an opinion with Rama that I also told Nano and I'm saying it publicly: for me, he has no state-forming cell. He has emotion, he has charisma, but he doesn't know the state. He refuses to be advised, he denigrates internal advisors and blindly trusts foreign advisors. Rama is a victim of his internal monsters," said Arben Malaj. /CNA
