The language of power with errors/ How governments write

In politics, before deeds, words are the strongest weapon, but when they are not used correctly, they lose their power. This happens very often in a good part of the posts of our politicians. Since we are a few days after the formation of the Rama 4 government, we are analyzing some of the ministers of this cabinet.

This shows their inability to write correctly, which is also a consequence of a national problem due to the wrong policies of the previous system and which continues with the current one.

As a result, the question arises: when is the last time these officials took Albanian language classes? Not even in high school! Maybe they need Albanian language courses to be a good example for those who follow them? Why not?! To be a model for all those who do not write Albanian correctly, but also for those who will come after them. Our society needs awareness in this regard, especially when those who should be an example need to follow an example.

Let's start with one of the ministers, who writes: "Minister of Internal Affairs" at the beginning of her profile?! Another question arises: minister or minister? In a post from three days ago, the "ë" is used well in many cases, but in many cases it is missing, perhaps they were too lazy to write it in all cases because, apparently, the Albanian keyboard "does not exist" for them and who keeps pressing the "e" until the "ë" appears...

In another post below, “Minister of Internal Affairs” is reinforced. We understand very well that as a job position it is “Minister of Internal Affairs”, but the Albanian language is very diverse and gives us the opportunity to adapt – “Minister of Internal Affairs”, so simple!

One good thing about this profile was that the "ç" was written in the correct form and not "c" as we see in many people's names and surnames, without forgetting the words in everyday use.

Even proper nouns in Albanian are inflected. For this reason, we would like to inform another minister, who writes: "We wish Ermal Shena success...", Ermal Shena, Madam Minister.

A separate problem are the short forms, these are also very important. “...Director General of the Agency...” - Director General of the Agency... Perhaps, based on the ministry that the minister in question will lead, these details are of little importance, but in reality the word has its weight and distortion in any case makes it less important! For someone who knows the value of their native language, this must be very worrying.

At a conference today in Vienna, not "Vienna" as our government minister writes, the problem of names comes up again. Well, maybe the minister himself didn't write it...

For any former ministers, today with a different position, we advise that they write their previous positions as befits them, because even on occasions like the 81st anniversary of the liberation of a city, in addition to celebrating this date, the fanatical preservation of our language should also be manifested, because after all, anniversaries like liberation or any other anniversary are remembered for these national values.

These examples from the writings of government officials remind us that language needs discipline as much as politics. In public communications, any linguistic inaccuracy undermines the credibility of the message. For this reason, linguistic care is a necessity, a standard that must be held high for the sake of the weight that their writings have in front of citizens, but even more so in preserving national values, such as the correctly written Albanian language in this case. / CNA
