Anti-drug operation in Kruja Highlands, Kruja and Thumana

Authorities have conducted a large-scale anti-drug operation in the Kruja Highlands, Nikël and Thumanë area.

Since the early hours of the morning, dozens of Kruja Police officers, supported by forces from Tirana, have been engaged in intensive field checks.

Controls are being carried out in open areas, forests and difficult terrain, with the aim of identifying and destroying any suspected parcels.

The operation is part of the plan of measures to prevent the cultivation of narcotics during the current season, while monitoring of the territory has increased significantly in recent weeks.

Kruja remains one of the areas that requires constant attention from law enforcement structures due to the problems encountered over the years with cannabis cultivation. For this reason, field controls have become more frequent and detailed.

The operation is still in progress and it is expected that after its completion, the concrete results of the checks and the measures taken by the police will be announced./ CNA
