Killed a police officer and injured another/ Who is the author of the incident

A serious incident occurred this Thursday in Lozhan, Maliqi, where this morning a police officer was killed and another was injured, during an operation to arrest a citizen.

The perpetrator of the incident, Violand Braçellari, is a well-known and highly sought-after name in the justice system, and according to information, he is considered a highly socially dangerous individual.

Braçellari, 43, was sentenced in 2017 to 9 years, 11 months and 7 days of imprisonment by the Korça Court for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics", while in 2011 he was sentenced to the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense "Cultivation of narcotic plants".

This Thursday morning, at around 07:30, the Police services surrounded the premises where Braçellari was suspected of hiding, who did not obey the Police's call to surrender and opened fire on the Police officers, resulting in the death of the Police officer, Inspector Enea Mekolli, 34, and the injury of the Police officer, Inspector Edison Adri, 36, both employees of the "Eagle" Special Force at the Korça Police Department. /CNA
